If you join the family at Battleship CrossFit, we take your membership seriously. And we firmly believe that we’re successful when you’re successful.
One of the things we love to do at Battleship CrossFit is… celebrate!
Our members come to our gym for a number of reasons. They want to lose fat. They hope to gain muscle mass. They want to ready themselves for the summer season. They want to train for a specific sport. But, ultimately, they want to live longer, happier and healthier lives. In our experience we have found that no two members are alike.
Different goals, different strategies for reaching those goals, and different outcomes along the way. We meet you where you are, an celebrate as you get to where you’re going.
But don’t just take our word for it. Check out some of our member success stories below.
Alexander played football in high school and some in college. After school, he decided that he wanted to join the Marines, but he was worried about not being in good enough shape to do so. After unsuccessfully trying to get back in shape on his own, he decided to try Battleship CrossFit, which he says is the best thing he could’ve done for himself. Alexander says that being at BCF has helped him regain his competitive drive and determination that he used to have when he was playing football. After only doing CrossFit and changing his diet for about 4 months, he has lost 60 pounds, all while getting faster and stronger!

Jeff L 4 years doing crossfit
Jeff has always loved to run. He ran cross country and track in high school and college. He has completed several marathons and finished Ironman Switzerland in 1998. Life happened, and Jeff stopped exercising for the next two decades. He decided to go from the couch to CrossFit, which he says has changed his life. It has provided him with strength and self confidence. He believes that, as an adaptive athlete, if he can do CrossFit, anyone can. Jeff is proud that he can now do a muscle up and is glad that he has the confidence daily to walk into Battleship CrossFit and finish a tough workout. To Jeff, CrossFit is much more than weights and WODS; it’s about a feeling of wellness and community.
Megan P 2 years doing crossfit
Megan started CrossFit to get back into shape after having her first child. She had always gone to a globo-gym before, but decided to try CrossFit for the challenge and added accountability. Within 5 months, she got back into shape and enjoyed the process. Megan says that going to Battleship CrossFit is motivating because the coaches are knowledgeable and helpful and members cheer you on, even if you are the last to finish. CrossFit has also helped her in her job to strengthen her upper body. As a barber, she uses her arms all day and used to have nagging shoulder pain from a previous injury. Now, she has much less pain and much more energy. In addition, she has the strength to carry her daughter all day and the energy to play with her.
Tanya G 1 years doing crossfit
Tanya didn’t grow up participating in sports in school. She did dabble in Yoga, but calls herself a “grade A couch potato” before she started CrossFit. In the past, she had tried to workout with her husband, but was never consistent. She finally decided to make a change and join Battleship CrossFit because she was tired of seeing no progress working out at a globo gym and doing Yoga. She enjoys that now she doesn’t have to think about what to do each day, because the workouts are planned for her and she’s seeing results. After only a year, she has lost 25 pounds and gained a ton of strength, endurance and confidence! She credits the Battleship CrossFit community for getting her to where she is today. Their daily support and encouragement has helped Tanya to shift her attitude from “No, I can’t do it” to “I’m going to try and keep trying until I can.”
Theresa L 2 years doing crossfit
Theresa began working out consistently after graduating college in 2007. She was an avid runner before she found her love of lifting weights. She says the people at Battleship CrossFit have become a second family to her and have helped her through some tough times in her life. She has gained both massive improvements in her strength and endurance, and also in her self confidence. Jake started at Battleship CrossFit to improve his overall fitness and to build up strength to join the United States Coast Guard. After training with us for a few months, he passed his PFT test and is now excelling in his new career! Jake says that CrossFit has helped him in his new job both physically and mentally. He also credits CrossFit for giving him confidence that he didn’t have before. For anyone thinking of trying CrossFit, Jake says to start where you’re at and don’t compare yourself to others. Instead, focus on pushing yourself to your limits knowing that you’ve given 100% every day.
Jordan 3 years doing crossfit
Jordan played competitive tennis and also ran cross country in middle and high school. Throughout her life, running has always been her go-to form of exercise. She started CrossFit because several people that she worked with did it. It has since become a sort of “adult recess” and a mental break from work and the normal stresses of daily life.
Jordan says she chose BCF because of the energy of the members and coaches. She also particularly enjoys Olympic lifting, which is a big part of the culture at BCF. Jordan says that she loves that each coach brings a different energy and style to their classes.
Since starting at BCF, her biggest accomplishment has been getting strict pull-ups. Her next big goal is to get muscle-ups!
Jordan says that CrossFit really helps in her active restaurant management job. She regularly changes kegs, lifts boxes of wine to the top shelf and lifts loaded 50 gallon coolers. Now she can go all day without sitting down! In addition to the physical aspects, she also credits CrossFit with boosting her self-confidence. She plans to do CrossFit for the rest of her life!
